EXECUTIVE ELECTION CANDIDATES 2026 - 2027

Robyn Johnson

Oki,
I come from a background of nearly six years in a mental health field, focusing on the development of skills and relationships for those with disabilities; in particular, my specialty stayed within the addictions and transient populations, and these skills I am hoping to translate over to assist and prop up the students within the Polytech to give them even greater prospects of success.
This is my first semester within the Polytech, so I feel I can see the Polytech and the students from a different perspective than others, culminating with my experience in the working field and mental health, I feel that it is a great opportunity for the students to speak with me and have their voices heard to continue shaping their Polytech experience to the best it can be.
My goal is to build upon a platform of communication; listening to the concerns of the students and communicating to the faculty and back to the students as necessary. I believe that once data is accrued and we can see where the students feel the greatest pressure points to their on-campus activities lie, and what they feel is missing, it will be significantly easier to begin shaping to alleviate that, and pave a road for even greater success on the behalf of future candidates and students.

Darci Campbell

Hello everyone!
My name is Darci Campbell and I am a first year Bachelor of Nursing student. I was born in Prince Edward Island and moved to Alberta in 2012, living in many different cities throughout. After my acceptance into the nursing program, I moved to Lethbridge so I am still getting used to the city. My interests include travelling, hiking, music, photography, and spending time volunteering and further educating myself as best I can. My motivation to promote health awareness and community support, including accessibility and mental health resources on campus comes from being a student myself, navigating life with Type 1 diabetes.
I am interested in the role of President because I am an engaged advocate for systemic change. I am hoping that this position will provide me the power to do so; ultimately, this role will grant me the ability to voice your concerns and make a difference here at Lethbridge Polytechnic. My long-term goals in life are to eventually get a Masters in Nursing and/or health policy and leadership. With this in mind, I intend to take initiative in this leadership role to address and implement change where applicable. I believe that we can fuel change but it requires team work, which includes you!
Thank you for taking the time to get to know me and I would be honoured with the opportunity to represent Lethbridge Polytechnic students

I am honored to present my mission and vision statement and make my intentions known to becoming the next Vice President, Student Life, I am deeply committed to improving student experiences, strengthening campus unity, and ensuring that every student feels seen, supported, and valued.
As a nursing student, I understand responsibility, empathy, teamwork, and leadership. These skills are not only essential in healthcare but are also vital in student leadership. Student life is about people, and caring for people is what I am trained to do.
Coming from an international and multicultural background has shaped my perspective. As a Nigerian student from Cross River State, I understand the challenges many students face—adjusting to a new environment, balancing academics with personal life, managing finances, and finding a sense of belonging. These experiences have strengthened my desire to serve as a bridge between students from diverse backgrounds and the school administration.
My vision statement as the next vice president student life is:
To build a supportive, inclusive, and vibrant campus community where every student—regardless of background, culture, or program of study—feels valued, empowered, and connected. I envision a student life that promotes well-being, unity, leadership, and academic balance, creating an environment where students can thrive both personally and professionally.
My mission as Vice President, Student Life is to advocate for student welfare, enhance campus engagement, and foster a culture of inclusion and collaboration. Drawing from my experience as a international student and with my multicultural background. As an international student that has gone through some challenging times in the Lethbridge polytechnic, I understand what is it for student to balance life away from family and friends and start a new life in a foreign country. I am committed to listening to student concerns, supporting mental health and wellness, encouraging active participation in student life, and serving as a strong bridge between students and school leadership. Through empathy, integrity, and service, I aim to improve the overall student experience and ensure that every voice matters.
I believe leadership is not about position, but about service, consistency, and integrity. I am approachable, dependable, and passionate about student welfare. I do not seek this role for recognition, but to serve, represent, and uplift the student community.
With your support, I am ready to work collaboratively to create a campus environment where students thrive academically, socially, and emotionally.

Vice president student life
Ben Boyd

Hi, my name is Ben Boyd. I am a Business Administration student and a current Student Representative.
Since the beginning of my term, I have been actively involved in student life on campus as a Student Rep. I have supported and assisted with events such as New Student Orientation, Open House, and Sexy Bingo, and I have taken on hosting Paint Nights this year. Being involved in these events has given me a clear understanding of how student life programming comes together and how important it is for events to feel welcoming, inclusive, and purposeful.
Beyond events, I have been learning more about how student life can support wellness and advocacy on campus. I have worked with Wellness Services on the planning stages of initiatives like Eating Disorder Awareness Week and have collaborated with staff and council members on ways to integrate wellness into student spaces better. I also attended the Healthy Campus Alberta Wellness Summit last summer, where I learned how campuses across Alberta approach student well-being in practical and thoughtful ways.
Through these experiences, I have come to believe that student life is about more than just events. It is about advocacy, support, and making sure students feel heard. As Vice President of Student Life, I want to continue building experience in this area by focusing on student voice, wellness, and representation while still supporting engaging, fun campus programming.
I am running because I care deeply about the student experience at Lethbridge Polytechnic and want to continue contributing in a leadership role. I would be grateful for the opportunity to serve as your Vice President of Student Life.
