STUDENT COUNCIL

CANDIDATES 2025 / 2026

Tosh Wells - Indigenous Student Representative Candidate 2025 / 2026

Hey Lethbridge Polytechnic!

My name is Tosh Wells, and I am running to be your next Indigenous Student Representative. This is my second year in the business administration program, and I am so excited to see what this school year has to offer!

As one of your previous student representatives I was able to work on so many different projects. Some of the events I assisted with behind the scenes were Paint Night, Sexy Bingo, the Round Dance, Student Leadership Appreciate Night, and so much more. I was also a part of several committees, representing you, the students.

One of the major projects I was able to focus on was starting the creation of the Indigenous Student Committee. Its goal is to bring together indigenous students voices, sharing our experiences, building a collective voice, and share our concerns. This project is one of my major passions and I hope to continue building its success.

Just this last summer I was fortunate enough to work as the Summer Events Coordinator at Interfaith Food Bank. Planning events for 750+ attendees. I had to organize, plan, and think logistically through each event to ensure success, while also communicating with community partners and with staff. This position allowed me to develop communication, leadership, and event planning skills.

I was also able to present at the Healthy Campus Alberta Wellness summit in Calgary. Speaking on my experience in student leadership and my efforts towards mental health.

This year, I hope to strengthen indigenous supports on campus, continue assisting LPSA with events, and represent all students with an Indigenous perspective.

Ben Boyd -  Student Representative Candidate 2025 / 2026

Hello everyone, my name is Ben Boyd.

I am a first-year Business Administration student, though this is actually my second year at Lethbridge Polytechnic, as I completed the Administrative Office Professional certificate last year.

I grew up in Lethbridge, and my passion for student leadership began in grade 9 when I attended a high school leadership conference at the University of Lethbridge. However, when COVID hit later that same year, that spark faded.

Fortunately, it returned during my second semester here when I started attending events like Sexy Bingo and Paint Night. Seeing how much people enjoyed these events inspired me to volunteer at the final Paint Night that semester, which opened the door to more opportunities. I helped at New Student Orientation and Coulee Fest on campus, as well as volunteered in the community at the Interfaith Food Bank.

This summer, I also attended the Healthy Campus Alberta Wellness Summit in Calgary, where I connected with student leaders and wellness staff from across the province. I gained valuable knowledge and learned strategies to help better promote wellness and strengthen our campus community.

I want to help create opportunities for students to get involved, meet new people, and make the most of their time here. I would be honoured to represent you on campus.

Thank you and remember to vote Ben Boyd!

Eunice Ejiro Ekairia - Student Representative Candidate 2025 / 2026

My name is Eunice Ejiro Ekairia, and I am from Nigeria. I am currently a student of Practical Nursing. Throughout my academic journey, I have always embraced leadership opportunities. While studying in Nigeria, I served as a class representative for three consecutive years and was also part of the leadership team in the Accounting Students’ Association at my university.

In 2023, I moved to Toronto, Canada, to pursue a graduate program in International Business Management. After completing that program, my passion for helping people inspired me to transition into the field of healthcare, which brought me to Lethbridge Polytechnic.

My background in both business and leadership, combined with my dedication to service, has prepared me to represent and advocate for my fellow students. I believe that serving as a student representative, I will always advocate for the students whom I represent and promote a smooth relationship between school management and the students if I am elected for this position.

My name is Teniola Morenikeji, and I am a first-year student of the Licensed Practical Nursing program at Lethbridge Polytechnic. I chose nursing because I have a strong passion for caring for others and making a positive difference in people’s lives.

As I begin my journey here, I am eager to get involved and contribute to our student community. Before moving to Lethbridge, I volunteered as a student leader at Brandon University, where I helped welcome and mentor new students during their transition to university life. In that role, I helped with organizing events, answering questions, and ensuring a supportive and inclusive environment for students. My experience as a student leader taught me the value of listening closely to others, building trust and being a leader students can rely on, which I believe are qualities essential for a student representative. As I begin my academic journey here, I want to use these skills to help build a stronger student community at Lethbridge Polytechnic.

I believe every student’s voice matters, and I would be honoured to represent my peers by advocating for their needs and creating a positive and supportive environment.
