Azarah Day Chief - Indigenous Student Representative Candidate 2026 / 2027

Hello, my name is Azarah Day Chief, and I am a first year student in the General Arts and Science program here at the polytechnic. I am Blackfoot from Kainai nation, and I hope to strengthen my connection to my culture. I also enjoy being involved in my community and putting myself out there to meet new people to create new meaningful connections.  

Tosh Wells - Student Representative Candidate 2026 / 2027

Hey Lethbridge Polytechnic! 

My name is Tosh Wells, and I am currently a student in the Business Administration program. I bring previous experience working in addictions and mental health, leading student advocacy initiatives, and coordinating events. 

I deeply care about helping people and creating spaces where individuals feel heard, respected, and represented. This passion has led me to volunteer with several organizations in our community. I currently serve on the boards of Interfaith Food Bank and OUTreach Southern Alberta, as well as the City of Lethbridge's Community Wellbeing Advisory Board. Through these roles, I have had the opportunity to bring forward different perspectives and advocate for the needs of vulnerable and underserved populations. 

As a Student Representative, I want students to feel comfortable coming to me with their experiences, concerns, and ideas. I want to hear about the challenges students are facing, as well as what they believe our institution could be doing better. I believe meaningful change starts by listening to the people directly affected, and I hope to use my role to ensure student perspectives are heard and brought forward. 



Arpan Sandhu - Student Representative Candidate 2026 / 2027

"My name is Arpan Sandhu. I am part of our college's Kodiaks Cross-country and Indoor track team since 2025 fall. I graduated from General Arts and Sciences diploma this summer. I will be working as a Research Assistant with my buddy/professor Joshua hill in starting of October. I am gonna start working as a Recreation staff on Volleyball game days in our college. I got onto the president's list for my summer semester courses. I am working as a cashier at Walmart since June 2025. This summer I worked as a Landscaper too in Lethbridge. I have great skill of multi-tasking as I work as a part-time cashier while studying and doing my running with my team. 

I love being around with my team and Kodiaks Volleyball, soccer and basketball buddies. I love to help my classmates, batchmates and teammates. I love playing badminton, Volleyball and Videogames like Pubg. 

Last year I lost the elections for being a student representative in LPSA by just 1 vote. I believe that I am the right fit for being one of the student representatives out of 5 this year. I like Psychology, did four courses related to psychology field and currently doing the fifth psychology course this semester. 

I started studying Therapeutic Recreation Gerontology diploma in our college this fall. I am loving the courses and content which I am being taught. I believe if students on our campus knows about the services which we have at student learning services and at LPSA for being a polytechnic's student, can get a better chance of succeeding in their academics and sports . If students take part in recreational activities offered by LPSA, like playing Volleyball, slow-pitch baseball, cricket and floor hockey, can stay active and healthy. There is just the need to have someone who can tell our students about the cool stuff which happens on our campus. That is why these elections are being held , to hire 5 worthy student candidates who can be the mechanism to reach those services which you are looking for. I can be your voice for this year 2026. I am always ready to help. I am a extrovert and super reachable person. 

I had a surgery on christmas day of 2025 , and on 5th january I trained on bike with my team for 7 or maybe 11 minutes. Never missed a single evening practice of running. I started running within 30 to 35 days. Eventually, In my Indoor Track Final championship I got second in my heat for 600 m. I got 3rd in my age category in moonlight run in march. This depicts how dedicated I can become when I decide to do something that I love. I really love the field of political science and psychology and I am optimistic that I will perform all job duties of a student representative perfectly.

Carlston Senfer Rodrigues -  Student Representative Candidate 2026 / 2027

Good morning, 

 My name is Carlston Senfer Rodrigues and I am a first-year General Arts and Science student at Lethbridge Polytechnic. This fall I am taking Psychology, Political Science, Sociology, and English courses. I have volunteered at multiple institutions in my hometown, Drumheller during which I discovered my love for meeting new people, learning about different perspectives, and getting involved in community service.  

 I am interested in serving the Student Council because I want to represent students and help make campus life positive and engaging for everyone. I am a firm believer in effective teamwork and communication for the betterment of society, or in this case, campus, and I would like to create even more opportunities for students to safely, without fear of judgment, have their voices heard.

Cora Farrell - Student Representative Candidate 2026 / 2027

Hello! my name is Cora, and i currently am enrolled in a General Arts and Science certificate. I hope to enrol next year in an Environmental Science degree as nature has been my life’s passion and love.  

I live by the philosophy that the world is both too large and too short all at the same time to not love it. I always try to find the joy, even against a mountain of negativity, because you could never see the rainbow without the rain. So the next time you are walking past, or even beside someone, take the moment to maybe compliment, or just even off a simple smile. You never know when you might be the spark of joy that could help someone climb their mountain. 

Hana Kuno - Student Representative Candidate 2026 / 2027

Getting to Know Hana Kuno 

My name is Hana Kuno. I am a second-year Criminal Justice student, and my goal is to become a probation officer in Alberta once I complete my degree. Outside of the classroom, I am a competitive judo athlete who loves staying active and being in the outdoors. In my free time, I love hiking. This past summer, I completed the Quadruple Crown of Canmore, and the year before that, I took on the Triple Crown of Waterton. When it’s time to relax, you can typically find me with a good book, playing strategy board games, or going out for a run. 



My passion for student life really grew last year through my work with the Lethbridge Polytechnic’s Students’ Association (LPSA). I learned how much I enjoyed improving student life on campus by facilitating events like Free Swim, Free Skate, and the Clothing Drive. I also participated in student events like Sexy Bingo, Paint Nights, and Disc Golf tournaments that helped bring the Polytechnic community together. Building on these experiences, running for the Student Representative role is the perfect next step in channeling that passion into advocating for our student body, and elevating the overall student experience. 

I care deeply about this community, the staff, and my fellow students. I am directly inspired by Lethbridge Polytechnic’s core mission to foster learning, opportunity, and belonging. It reflects everything I stand for as a dedicated athlete and responsive leader. Lethbridge Polytechnic is already an incredible institution, and I hope to make my mark by being a strong voice for students and shaping the polytechnic experience for the benefit of all.

Background:  

Hello everyone, here’s a brief overview on who I am.  

I was raised in Edmonton Alberta and I’ am a Filipino- Canadian student. What makes up a great part of my identity is wrestling! Ive been involved in the sport since I was 15 years old; competing as an athlete, officiating tournaments, and encouraging the love of wrestling through coaching.  

A part of becoming my best version of myself involves learning how to navigate, and understand the people around me. Through this position I believe this will help me connect myself to the school and ground myself with the community. 

Some values that I’ve adopted to work towards all my goals is honesty, authenticity, faith, and dedication. As the winds blow strongly here in Lethbridge, I hope it generates as much determination and strength to get you through school while reaching the rest of your goals!
